LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Days 4–6: Holiday Pit Droid, Clone Turbo Tank, and 212th Clone Trooper. Guest photography by my son while I’m in Amsterdam. I like the orange markings on that clone trooper and appreciate the included long rifle (at least they didn’t save it for a weapons rack day). Three thumbs up.

Day 3: The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 3: The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter. This was the Mandalorian’s replacement ship after the Razor Crest got blown up. It even features the secondary rear cockpit where baby Yoda sits. Now this is a nice micro build. Thumbs up.
Day 2: The Justifier.
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 2: The Justifier. I had to look this one up because I didn’t recognize it. It’s the spaceship of evil bounty hunter Cad Bane. The ship looks weird and doesn’t sit flat. Meh. Thumbs down.
Day 1: Omega with Sled
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 1: Omega with Sled. Omega from the Bad Batch together with a sled. It’s wintry I guess, but usually these calendars start strong with a really cool spaceship build. This, this is weak and does not bode well for this year’s calendar. At least they didn’t try to split Omega and the sled into two even lamer days. I can console myself with the offerings from my beer and chocolate advent calendars. Thumbs down.
Fixing my bed with LEGO. It willl require 52 of these assemblies. I’m using a rubber balloon tire piece that was popular in space sets in the 1980’s and hasn’t been produced in almost 20 years.
Purple Classic Space Minifig Math
In early 2022 LEGO released the Space Creature minifig as part of Collectible Minifigures Series 22, which featured a purple Classic Space torso. In early 2023 they released a single old-style Classic Space helmet in purple as part of the expensive Lunar New Year Parade set, but now in Fall 2023 they released a free-with-purchase Halloween Fun VIP add-on pack that contains two helmets.
Now I can make a purple Classic Space guy out of the alien minifigure (actually I can make four). The alien’s decorated arms and legs also look cool, so maybe I’ll also keep those for an officer.
One LEGO Shop order, three Gift with Purchase sets. The bags are dubbed “Add-On Packs”, i.e. collections of loosely themed parts, one pirates and the other Halloween. I’m excited for the Halloween pack because it has a part I have been waiting almost two years for.
Among others, set 60348 Lunar Roving Vehicle reminds me of the blue and yellow 6928 Uranium Search Vehicle from 1984 and the gray and green 6901 Mobile Lab from 1980.
Fixed the Lunar Roving Vehicle set.
LEGO Set 60348: Lunar Roving Vehicle (2022). Multi-wheeled vehicle with four hatches and two articulated arms. Includes a geode with crystal inside, a driver, and two astronauts. I like the docking hatches on the sides of the rover. These connect with the lunar base from another set.
