Hochstuckli selfie

View from the Hochstuckli down into Schwyz. More low key skiing at Sattel this morning. I try to be on the slopes by 9, in the gondola heading back down the mountain by 10:30, and then at home and at my desk as soon as possible thereafter.

Ordered a smart battery case for my iPhone Max. That thing will be a tank! I could have used this last month for our Amazon trip.
I was returning from the store with a trolley full of groceries. Since it is 2°C outside and this is Switzerland, I just left them in the shade in front of the building until I could get a key.
I locked myself out of my apartment for 2.5h this afternoon. (All I have to do is leave without the key and I’m locked out.) Without the kindness of a neighbor I would have been locked out for much longer.
I wiped out skiing this morning (accidentally went off-piste into deep, loose snow) and a passing middle-schooler asked me if I was ok. Faith in humanity restored. (I’m fine.)
Morning mountain: I skipped my hiking group’s snowshoe hike in favor of some relaxed skiing at Sattel. I still need to build up endurance in my thighs…

This being Switzerland, no one stopped to ask if I needed help or asked if I was ok. (To be fair I never felt like I was in any danger, and I don’t know what sort of help could have been offered, and I had a phone to call for help if needed.)
I would be remiss if I didn’t recount yesterday’s ski misadventure: While skiing at our smallish local resort, I fell off the T-Bar at perhaps the worst possible point and had to spend an hour struggling through deep snow to get back on-piste.
Chairlift selfie heading up to the Oberjoch (I love that name).
