OK, this morning felt a bit more like Fall, mostly because I got out on the lake before the sun crested the hills. Probably my last SUP outing for a couple weeks as I’ll be on vacation in the U.S. next week.

Where’s my Fall weather? After the hottest September on record, I’m guessing we might be heading for the hottest October on record. In any case, took the SUP out on the lake this morning and was hot.

Another cool (10° C) morning on the Ägerisee, but less mist this time. Water is still warm from the summer even though it’s now October. I’d like to see how late in the season I can keep going out this year.

Couldn’t resist taking the SUP out on a cold (10° C) but blue sky morning. The lake water is warmer than the air, producing mist.

The alp horn player was back yesterday morning when I took the SUP out on the lake.

Yesterday I returned from the mountains of the Upper Engiadine. Today is the hottest day of the year in Unterägeri (thus far): 32°C / 90°F. That’s not that hot, but AC is uncommon here. Today was an excellent day to take the SUP out on the lake instead of hiking. Alas there was no alp horn player today.

This morning when I took the SUP out on the lake, someone was practicing the alp horn. I had that part of the lake all to myself, so I was able to relax on my board with a view of hilly pastures, farm houses, and forest while listening to alp horn music. Very Swiss. Would do again.

Now that the lake is finally warming up and I don’t have to leave early to get to language school every morning, I’m going to try to get out on the lake whenever the weather is nice. Yesterday I took the stand up paddle out for the first time this summer.

Filled up the SUP and got it on the water for the first time this year. Paddled to the next village over on the lake to hear a concert and have dinner and then paddled back. Perfect Saturday evening.
