9 April 2019
7.7km, 410m ascent, 1h50m, 7°C
A nice hike up the Albishorn on a damp, drippy Spring morning. The hiking group did the Albishorn last September but from the west (Lake Zug) side. This hike ascended from the east (Lake Zürich) side. Once again the weather didn’t make for very good views.

Route map:

This is supposed to be a view of Lake Zürich, but clouds. Still a nice hike up the Albishorn on a damp, drippy Spring morning: 7.7km, 410m ascent, 1h50m, 7°C.

Beautiful hike up the Zugerberg this morning. The remnants of last Thursday’s snow made for a slushy and muddy ascent: 10.7km, 470m ascent, 2h50m, 7°C.

2 April 2019
10.2km, 480m ascent, 2h30m, 8°C
This hike began with a steep ascent through the forest from Schönegg, continued with a relatively flat stretch traversing the moors atop the Zugerberg (shown above), and ended with a descent down into Unterägeri on the opposite side of the mountain.
Route:

Panorama across the moors atop Zugerberg. Morning hike: 10.2km, 480m ascent, 2h30m, 8°C.

20 March 2019
7.7 km, 160 m ascent, 1h20m, 2°C
It’s been about two and a half months since my last Tuesday group hike. Some of the absences were due to scheduling conflicts, but mostly it was because I chose to go skiing instead. This was a nice easy hike to get back into shape for more hiking this Spring.
This was a pleasant fast walk through farm fields and woods. No high mountains or spectacular views, but good enough and relatively close to home.
Route map from my watch:

Group hike this morning through farm fields and woods near Baar: 7.7km, 160m ascent, 1h20m, 2°C. Easy return to hiking after a couple months off.

Amphibians! These road signs appear around Switzerland each Spring. People even help frogs cross roads. I like that the Swiss care for the environment and for little things.

Tried to do some end of season skiing at Sattel-Hochstuckli, but the snow was too hard for it to be any fun for me. I think this might be it for my 2018-19 season unless we make another weekend trip to the Alps.
