Ultra-wide landscape shot from Grindelwald First

Another excellent day in the mountains around First. This is on one of my favorite pistes, Gemsberg. There were mountain goats (not pictured).

View from Oberjoch above Grindelwald First. First day of skiing this season.

Morning hike: Gubel, 8km, 210m ascent, 1h45m, 1°C. More of a hill really but enough to get the blood pumping and it’s always good to be outdoors.

Lake Zug as seen from the Zugerberg. Morning hike: 10.8km, 480m ascent, 2h50m, 3°C. Lovely cool weather for the steep climb up the Zugerberg from Schönegg.

View of Ägeri valley. Easy loop hike today through St Jost from the Raten pass on a beautiful crisp Fall day with great views of the Agerital: 5.6km, 160m ascent, 1h30m, 6°C.

Easy hike around Lake Lauenen: 3.2km, 24m ascent, 0h:50m, 11°C.

Lake Zürich as seen from Gottschalkenberg. Easy hike today to ease back into it after a week in the US eating lots of comfort food and not exercising much: 7km, 190m ascent, 1h50m, 13°C.

Accommodations for the night in the Bernese Oberland. Nicht schlecht!
