Golden light over lake and valley.

View looking into the newly risen sun that casts a golden sheen over the landscape. The occasional tree dots pastures in the foreground, the surface of a lake reflects the light in the middle distance, and hills form silhouettes in the distance. This was my view as I turned back towards home on my morning walk.

Swiss farm fields. Some of the farms have little self-service stores where they sell their products. On this morning’s walk I bought Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and fresh eggs.

Hike up to the white cross on a cool and cloudy morning: 5.1 km, 272m ascent, 1h20m, 8°C ☁️. I woke up with headache and nausea, but glad I forced myself to go out. Feeling 100% better now.

Hazy morning over the Ägerital

Low-lying clouds over the Ägerital this morning. Trying to restart an exercise routine after a 10-day hiatus due to COVID and other life stuff.

Fuorcla Surlej

Fuorcla Surlej: Short and easy high altitude walk to a fantastic view. The deer sausage and walnut pie weren’t bad either. We had been here two years ago, but was definitely worth another visit. 4.5km, 137m ascent, 1h7m roundtrip, 13°C ⛅️

Via Engiadina, Stage 4

Via Engiadina, Stage 4: Bever – Zuoz. Pleasant rolling trail through mixed woods and alpine meadows. This walk was entirely below the treeline. 12.0km, 487m ascent, 3h30m, 11°C ☀️

Via Engiadina, Stage 3

Via Engiadina, Stage 3: Celerina – Bever. Some really nice high alpine areas in the first half. 10.8km, 227m ascent, 2h47m, 10°C ⛅️
