LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 10: Hailfire Droid Tank. I remember these weird things from Attack of the Clones. Fun little build with the wheels and missile launchers held at an angle. Thumbs up.

Day 9: STAP Speeder
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 9: STAP Speeder. Vertical hovering speeder with dual cannons. They even included a transparent brick and a green plate to simulate hovering over the Naboo grasslands. It looks better with yesterday’s battle droid piloting it (as Day 7’s Clone Command Station looks better with Day 6’s Clone Trooper occupying it). Thumbs up.
Days 7–8: Clone Command Station and Battle Droid
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Days 7–8: Clone Command Station and Battle Droid. I had to look up what that random lump of bricks on the left was. Essentially it’s a weapon rack without any weapons. Two thumbs down.

Days 4–6: Holiday Pit Droid, Clone Turbo Tank, 212th Clone Trooper
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Days 4–6: Holiday Pit Droid, Clone Turbo Tank, and 212th Clone Trooper. Guest photography by my son while I’m in Amsterdam. I like the orange markings on that clone trooper and appreciate the included long rifle (at least they didn’t save it for a weapons rack day). Three thumbs up.
Day 3: The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 3: The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter. This was the Mandalorian’s replacement ship after the Razor Crest got blown up. It even features the secondary rear cockpit where baby Yoda sits. Now this is a nice micro build. Thumbs up.
Day 2: The Justifier.
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 2: The Justifier. I had to look this one up because I didn’t recognize it. It’s the spaceship of evil bounty hunter Cad Bane. The ship looks weird and doesn’t sit flat. Meh. Thumbs down.
Day 1: Omega with Sled
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 1: Omega with Sled. Omega from the Bad Batch together with a sled. It’s wintry I guess, but usually these calendars start strong with a really cool spaceship build. This, this is weak and does not bode well for this year’s calendar. At least they didn’t try to split Omega and the sled into two even lamer days. I can console myself with the offerings from my beer and chocolate advent calendars. Thumbs down.
No view at Bellvue today. This was the destination / viewpoint of today’s snowshoe hike. It’s supposed to be a view over to lake Zürich. I’ve attached a photo from the same spot I took on a clear Fall day back in 2019.
First snowshoe hike 2023/24
First snowshoe hike of the season (possibly first in two years). It was raining heavily down in the valley, so I wasn’t even sure I should go, but up at the Raten pass there was fresh wet snow. We’re going to the mountains in two weeks, and I need to get some practice in.
