Work from home lunch: homemade steak tartare

I might not have made it all the way up Pilatus today, but at least I picked up some local cheese!

Hiked halfway up Pilatus to Aemsigen this morning. We decided to turn back there because the weather was not very good. We’ll make another attempt next week. 5.7km, 910m ascent, 2h5m, 10°C. Halfway was still the 2nd hardest hike I’ve done this year!

Today we hiked between the Engadin villages of Lavin and Guarda, ate lunch in Guarda, got a tour (in German) of Tarasp Castle, dinner at a steakhouse in Scuol, then relax at the spa. I could get used to this routine of spa after hiking!

Yesterday we drove to Scuol in eastern Switzerland for the 3-day weekend. We took a cable car from Scuol up to Motta Naluns, ate lunch there, then hiked down to Ftan. We had Thai for dinner then relaxed in the pools at the Bad Scuol (spa) until they closed at 10pm.

Summer! (at the top of the Flüelapass at 2,383m on the way to Scuol in eastern Switzerland)

For WWDC Day 5 I hiked up the Wildspitz, the highest mountain in Zug canton at 1,580m. 5.3km, 450m ascent, 2h, 10°C.

For WWDC Day 4 I hiked up to Zugerberg Hochwacht. It’s a gentle grassy peak with a lovely shade tree and 360° views of Zug and Ägeri lakes. This might be a new favorite local spot! 8km, 300m ascent, 2h, 11°C.
