I WILL COOK AND EAT MY WAY THROUGH THIS CRISIS!
I’ve been working from home for the past 18 years, but now with my wife and son home all day with me, it’s a different beast. (Not to mention all the coronavirus anxiety.) I’ve been listening to more music lately to help cut down on distractions.
We’re not on lockdown (yet), but there’s honestly not much to do outside other than buy groceries or exercise. Going for walks in the farm fields should be harmless enough.
Kudos again to the Swiss government yesterday for shutting down all (non-essential) shops, restaurants, bars, leisure facilities, etc until 19 April. Better late than never. Let’s do this!
I’m disinfecting a few surfaces around the house before I go to bed and singing to myself, “It’s the Final Wipedown” to the tune of Europe’s 1986 hit.
Over 800 new coronavirus cases reported in Switzerland today. We currently have the second most cases per capita (behind Italy) and we’re not even testing everyone with symptoms or randomly sampling the general population. 😕😷🦠
The TP aisle at the supermarket this morning after the Swiss government announced a national emergency yesterday afternoon. It’s a good thing we’re all set for toiletpaper at the moment.
I’m glad to see that WWDC will be a remote-first event this year. The demand has far outstripped supply for years now (remember when tickets sold out in seconds in 2013?). In any case the new format seems more equitable to me.
Ever since the announcement today that all schools in Switzerland will be closed, I have a mixture of Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Walk (Part 2)” running through my head.
