My favorite feature of this VW camper.

Had my first surf lesson today (at age 49) at Baleal Beach. Only a few km away in Peniche there was a big surf competition on the men’s championship tour (we tried to watch but couldn’t get parking, visited Nazaré instead).

Beach north of Nazaré. No big waves today (season is usually in November).

Statue at Nazaré, home of some of the biggest surfing waves in the world. I like that it blends 12th century legend with a modern theme.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but this design looks oddly familiar…
