Mattstock summit
Mattstock summit. Got to write my name into a mountain book they keep there. First time doing that. Hoping to sign a few more this year.
Mattstock hike
Tuesday morning hike: Mattstock in St. Gallen: 7.6km, 630m ascent, 3h, 14°C. T3 hike so technically a bit difficult. This was a tough hike for me– tougher than it seems from the stats. Evidently too much pain chocolat, charcuterie, and crepes and not enough hiking!

Monet’s Mordor
This Monet painting is of London in the fog, but my son said it looks to him like Mordor!
Paris trip, day 2
Paris trip, day 2/2: pain de chocolat at a sidewalk cafe, impressionist masterpieces at the Musée d’Orsay, more charcuterie and sweet crepes for lunch, stroll through the Tuileries Garden to the Louvre Pyramid, train back to Switzerland.
Hokusai’s wave
Atelier des Lumières also projects an exhibit based on Japanese painting, so naturally they animated Hokusai’s famous waves.
Atelier des Lumières
Atelier des Lumières: the works of Van Gogh digitally projected on the 10 meter tall walls of a disused 19th century iron foundry and set to music.
