Pretty flowers

This weekend we visited the medieval village of Miglieglia in Ticino, the southern Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Saturday we took a cable car up to Monte Lema, had lunch, then hiked down 930m back to town. We ate dinner in 1 of 2 restaurants in town and then crashed.

6800-1: Cyber Blaster, 1997. Small but well-armed hovercraft piloted by a blue droid (also armed). The printing on the droid (and slope and tile) is quite elaborate, probably overly so.

Work from home lunch: spicy salmon tartare on a bed of arugula plus salmon sashimi.

I caught a view of Pilatus, which I hope to hike next Tuesday.

Morning hike, Zugerberg Hochwacht: 8.2km, 290m ascent, 1h55m, 16°C. Panorama of Lake Zug (and Zug city)

I recently discovered a small local store that carries over a dozen varieties of cheeses made in our valley, plus local butter, and eggs. Tonight I used local eggs and butter together with cheese from Mt Pilatus to make this asparagus potato quiche. (Also, I love asparagus season.)

2847-1: Flyer, 1997. One of the smallest UFO sets, this little ship features posable wings, an alien with a transparent neon orange head … and not much else. UFO is the penultimate Space subtheme that I will cover. The cool printed helmet reminds me of the Predator.
