6900-1: Cyber Saucer, 1997. Flying saucer piloted by a single blue alien. The saucer spins and can separate from the landing gear. Check out those bright colors and big printed parts!
Month: June 2019
6836: V-Wing Fighter
6836-1: V-Wing Fighter, 1997. Small spaceship with ample firepower and thrusters piloted by a red droid. Not a bad looking ship.
6829: Radon Rover
6829-1: Radon Rover, 1997. Odd-looking ground vehicle driven by a blue droid. I’m not sure what’s going on with those wings over the rear wheels.
Pilatus hike
Today I hiked up Pilatus, probably the toughest hike I’ve ever done. I’ve been training for this for 9 months: 9.3 km, 1,620m ascent, 5h, 24°C. At least the weather was clear this week, so the views were good.
6818: Cyborg Scout
6818-1: Cyborg Scout, 1997. Space tricycle piloted by a blue droid. Not great but points for being slightly asymmetrical.
Spicy tuna tartare
Work from home lunch: spicy tuna tartare on a bed of arugula plus tuna sashimi.
Beer vs coffee
(Beer would have gone better with the bratwurst, but driving. Next time.)
Gotthard Pass panorama
On the drive home we drove over the Gotthard Pass. Panorama from near the top. We stopped for coffee and bratwurst at the kiosk on the left and enjoyed the fantastic views from the outdoor tables.
Miglieglia trip, day 2
Sunday we had decided to forgo hiking in favor of a visit to a water park, but the B&B owner talked us into hiking to this beautiful spot on the Magliasina river instead. The little waterfall powered a 19th century forge. The water was brisk to say the least.
Hiking down
Saturday’s hike down was harder than expected. I mostly hike up then take a lift down, so I was wiped at the end of the day (which also included 3 hours of driving and waking up at 5).
