Day 2 of App Builders Switzerland. Let’s do this!
In my post on changes I wrote:
I really enjoy working from home
It’s very important for me who I work with, perhaps more so than what I work on.
Eventually I will need to earn some money.
Two weeks ago an opportunity presented itself that addresses the above items. In short, I now have a trusted client who will contract me to work flexible hours from my home in Switzerland at an agreeable rate.
While I will miss having abundant time to pursue my interest in game development, I am happy to be back to work and using my skills to improve a project.
Conference speakers: never rely on internet connection for your demo. Ok to attempt but have a backup plan (such as a video of your demo working correctly).
And so App Builders 2018 begins. First time representing myself at a conference (and not an employer).

Can’t believe this giant app with 30+ dependencies built first time (first compile on the new machine). I must be getting better at this cocoapods stuff.
Since 2012 I’ve only ever had 15” retina MacBook Pros. This should be a change of pace.
I needed a laptop for the App Builders Switzerland conference next week in Lugano. I had been sans laptop since I returned my corporate one back in January.
Field testing my new 12” MacBook at the local coffee shop. Let’s see how it handles this 2 year old Swift legacy app I’ve inherited…
